Biographie :

A native of Barcelona,Codina lives and works in Paris. The ordinary, small habits of everyday life are the subject of Conce Codina’s work.
Her starting point is an interaction with people she doesn’t know, and who are asked a question, requested to do something, proposed a game, or made to react to something without the slightest importance. The results are composed into a lyrical evocation of the many differences between people, beyond the usual categories applied to the notion of identity. Codina’s work has been widely shown,including on television (Arte, Canal+) and in institutions like Fundacio La Caixa (Barcelona). She has also participated in many group exhibitions throughout Europe.

Interaction with other people is the starting point of Conce Codina’s works. Both her photography and her video pieces revolve around the input of anonymous characters shown reacting to a question, a petition or a game suggested by the artist.The result is a contribution to this highly personal,open and borderless visual archive that records the diversity of identities and the many differences between people.
